Pricing Out a New Asphalt Roof
1. Style and material you choose. Higher-end custom colors and styles are available but will cost more than standard options.
2. Weight and quality of shingles. Thicker shingles, which cost more money up front, are more durable and may last longer than cheaper, thinner shingles.
3. Pitch of your roof. A house with a steep roof carries additional risks for installers. Additional safety precautions may be necessary, which will add to the total cost of the project.
4. Climate where you live. In areas that experience large amounts of precipitation or high humidity, it may be necessary to purchase special algae-resistant shingles. These shingles will have a higher price tag than the standard asphalt shingle.
5. Removal of existing roof. Our estimates do not include existing roof tear-off. Depending on your current roof condition, you may need to pay extra to remove the existing shingles.
